Our Billings, Montana office is currently seeking an HR
Generalist.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the
organization's human resources functions, with a primary focus on
employee relations, leave and benefits administration, and talent
acquisition. This role serves as a key resource for employees and
managers, ensuring compliance with policies and employment
laws.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations
matters, offering guidance and resolving workplace concerns in a
fair and consistent manner.
- Support and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company
policies related to employment, benefits, and workplace
practices.
- Administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA,
ADA, and other applicable leave types, ensuring accurate
documentation and communication.
- Coordinate and manage benefits enrollment, changes, and
employee education initiatives, partnering with vendors as
needed.
- Assist with processing payroll or payroll-related changes, such
as compensation adjustments, deductions, or status changes.
- Maintain and update employee records and HRIS data to ensure
accuracy and confidentiality.
- May participate in full-cycle recruitment including job
postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and
facilitating job offers.
- May assist with onboarding activities to ensure a positive and
compliant new hire experience, including orientation, paperwork,
and system setup.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and
procedures.
- Support various HR initiatives and projects as needed to
enhance the overall employee experience. KEY SKILLS:
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service and verbal
communication skills to effectively engage with employees and
managers across all levels, resolve concerns, and foster a positive
workplace culture with empathy and cultural awareness.
- Maintains the highest level of discretion when handling
sensitive employee information, using sound judgment to assess
complex HR issues and ensure compliance with policies and
regulations.
- Works effectively both independently and within
cross-functional teams to support HR initiatives, improve
processes, and achieve department goals.
- Ensures accuracy in documentation, data entry, and HR
processes, with strong follow-through and a commitment to
high-quality work.
- Remains flexible and proactive in a dynamic environment,
balancing multiple responsibilities such as leave coordination and
compliance tracking with efficiency.
- Produces well-organized, concise written materials for internal
communication, onboarding resources, policy updates, and employee
correspondence.
- Embraces ongoing development, staying current with HR laws,
tools, and best practices to enhance service delivery and support
organizational growth.
- Takes ownership of responsibilities, responds constructively to
feedback, and makes informed decisions by evaluating available data
and aligning with HR objectives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct
exposure to employee relations, benefits, leave administration, and
recruitment.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant
experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other
similar software.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal
instructions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.
- Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at
times.
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.The physical demands are
