Job Description:The Speech Pathologist is responsible for
screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treating disorders
of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and
swallowing. In addition, this position is also responsible for
consulting, educating and training patients and their

"Power of We."As a Speech Language Pathologist in Acute Care at
Billings Downtown Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting
our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Competent Services: Carrying out speech therapy evaluations,
program planning, and treatments for hospital inpatients and
outpatients. Working closely with the Physical Medicine Director in
coordinating speech therapy activities with other hospital
disciplines and in developing a program for department expansion,
community and physician marketing, budget needs, and department
administration. Working independently with limited contact with
other Speech Language Pathologists.
- Documentation and Monitoring: Providing timely and thorough
documentation of the patient record consistent with agency
standards. Demonstrating compliance with patient care coordination,
including utilization, infection control, improvement in corrective
action plans, and attendance at staff and training meetings.
- Patient Care Process: Thoroughly identifying and evaluating
functional and rehabilitative needs. Identifying and prioritizing
patient needs. Developing and implementing appropriate care plans
and goals. Adjusting and updating care plans as needed.
Appropriately coordinating patient care with other disciplines.
Providing appropriate education to patients and families.
Consistently following the established care plan.
- Resource Management: Demonstrating the efficient use of
resources by effectively managing time, supplies, and equipment and
by meeting established productivity standards.Minimum
Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech pathology.
- Current license to practice speech-language pathology in the
state of practice.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) and achievement of
clinical competencies by the required clinical internships.
- Strong Clinical Fellows with demonstrated competence may work
under supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist while completing
the fellowship year.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart
Association, required by completion of the unit-specific
orientation and before working independently.Preferred
Qualifications
- At least six (6) months of experience in the acute care
setting, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow
Studies.Physical Requirements:Hearing/listening, lifting, manual
dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking,
squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.Location:Billings

Hours:32The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual
hourly rate dependent upon experience. $37.46 - $57.80 We care
